Last year, Nike announced the BREAKING2 initiative, where world renowned long distance runners Eliud Kipchoge, Zersenay Tadese, and Lelisa Desisa attempted to run a full marathon in under two hours. Whilst none of them succeeded in completing this feat, Kipchoge came extremely close, finishing the race just 25 seconds above the mark and thus completing the fastest marathon in history. Now, adidas has unveiled their very own sub two hour marathon sneaker.
Dubbed the adiZero Sub2, the shoe features a new Boost Light midsole and features a single-layer upper of ultralight fabric engineered from reduced-weight mesh with internal reinforcements and advanced Microfit to provide enhanced support, comfort, and fit. Ahead of the race, you yourself can cop a pair beginning March 15th. In related news, check out Nike’s new React sneaker here.
