Hybrid silhouettes are dominating in 2018 whether it’s those Vapormax 97 renditions or the limited-edition styles such as Skepta’s Air Max 97/ BW. Another exciting sole-swap fuses an Air Max 90 midsole below an Air Max 1 upper.
This Frankenstein fusion of two iconic silhouettes was thought to be launching earlier this month. Unfortunately, those hoping to cop were left scratching their heads when these failed to surface across European stockists. But don’t panic as the Nike Air Max 90/1 Sport Red is just delayed slightly – a global release is expected very soon!
The original stays entirely true to the first ever Air Max 1 colourway, otherwise known as ‘Anniversary Red‘. This old-school choice of colours gets complimented by the robust midsole of an Air Max 90. Whilst you’d expect a more shocking look for such a unique medley, it looks entirely normal. The slightly chunkier AM90 midsole doesn’t look out of place below the AM1.
