Trends are such strange things, aren’t they? One minute, something can be old and dated, and just a few minutes later, they’re the biggest fashion statement of the year. Whether you like it or not, the ‘dad shoe’ trend is here to stay, and adidas Originals is following up on the massive success of the Yeezy 700 Wave Runner with the release of the equally-as-chunky Yung-1, which was unveiled by the one and only Yeezy Mafia at the end of last year.
Images courtesy of Instagram user UGLY MELY, the Yung-1 is dressed in tonal beige and grey hues, and boasts The Three Stripes’s Falcon Dorf upper from the late ’90s, with a newly revamped sole. Although we pretty much know nothing about the adidas Originals Yung-1, you have to admit, it definitely makes a statement.
In related news, Chanel just revealed its dad shoe offering in the form of the aptly named Chanel Trainer. Constructed using only the most premium of lambskin and calfskin leather, as one would expect from Chanel, the as of yet nameless sneakers will set you back a cool €720, which works out at around £630.
