Tokyo-based retailer Mita has teamed up with adidas Consortium for the hotly anticipated ‘Cages and Coordinates’ pack, and boy, are we excited. Comprising of the newest version of the NMD, the TS1, and the classic Stan Smith, the collection will be available from a range of EU retailers, including Footshop.
The Mita x adidas Consortium NMD TS1 will surely be an instant sell out from Footshop. The next generation of Nomad, this sneaker features a Primeknit upper for a versatile fit, and makes use of a tonal mesh pattern that calls to mind the wire cages famously used to display each footwear style sold within Mita.
Doing away with any conventional lacing system, the Mita NMD TS1 adopts a cord lock approach that you’d normally find on backpacks and coats. To round it all off, this sneaker sits atop a full length Boost midsole for additional comfort and a smoother stride.
The Mita x adidas Consortium Stan Smith, on the other hand, is crafted from premium leather, and features a clean rubber midsole underfoot below for beautifully contrasted look. A host of blacked out tonal additions, including heel tabs and metal side-zips, are offset by white text that runs downs the entire length of the tongue and across the heel.
From a distance, the text might look like random verbiage, but they are actually the geographic coordinates for both the Mita store in Tokyo and the adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach.
Slated to drop on July 13th through Footshop and a bunch of other retailers, the Mita x adidas Consortium ‘Cages and Coordinates’ pack is a must cop collection for any sneakerhead.
