Last weekend's Yeezy 500 'Bone White' release was one of the most sought after Kanye West x adidas releases of the year. Marking the latest Desert Rat to drop since November, it pretty much sold out within seconds of release. Now, images have surfaced of what could be the Yeezy 500 V2 - let's take a closer look!
Image courtesy of sneaker insider @kickwhoshow, the photo showcases a shoe that's is very clearly a 500 but with a totally reworked tongue. Unlike the V1, this mysterious sneaker does away with the much loved leather pull tab and it instead replaces it with a thick neoprene tongue that's totally different.
According to the leaker, this is apparently what the Yeezy 500 'Stone' is going to look like, but if you take a look at the mock up you can see that the 'Stone' still retains the OG tongue. To add to this, the colour of this shoe bears a striking resemblance to the 'Supermoon Yellow', unlike the earthy brown hues of the 'Stone'.
Some sneakerheads believe that the tongue belongs to the 500 High that leaked earlier this month. This is a pretty good assumption, but when you take a look at the nitty gritty details and compare them both, you'll find that they're completely different shoes. For example, the alleged 500 V2 features a series of tiny suede ovals across its lacing system, while the 500 High makes use of three larger ones.
Whether this is the Yeezy 500 V2, the 500 'Stone', the 500 High', or a very early sample remains to be seen. But whatever it is, it's definitely caught our attention. What do you think it is?
