If 2018 was the year of the hyped restocks, 2019 is definitely the year of the hyped releases. Back in July, Kanye West took to social media with a few extremely rough sketches of what to expect next year.
Comprising of the 350 V3, 500 V2, and 700 V3, the teaser also introduced four brand new Yeezy silhouettes, including the 451, 1050, Basketball, and the Terrex. With that said, here’s absolutely everything that we know so far about these seven new models!
adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V3
According to our sources, the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V3 is set to release within the first quarter of 2019, so sometime in January, February, or March. If the illustrations are correct, the shoe should keep the familiar 350 shape, but with an updated Primeknit upper, a higher ankle collar, a reworked heel tab that is vertical rather than horizontal, and a tongue tab for added convenience. Of course, it will retain its Boost midsole and the unique design that we have all come to love.
adidas Yeezy 500 V2
When this model first leaked back in October 2017, sneakerheads literally could not believe their eyes. Clunky, bulky, and anything but subtle, now everyone wants a piece of the pie. The adidas Yeezy 500 V2 will retain the same shape and design as the current version with slightly more streamlined side panels. Crafted from mesh and leather, the oh-so-comfy adiPRENE midsole will also make a return. A release date is currently unknown, so keep your eyes peeled.
adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V3
It’s crazy to think that the second iteration hasn’t even released yet and the adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V3 is already in the works. An obvious successor to the chunky sneaker, pretty much nothing is known about this dad shoe, other than the fact it was designed by Vice President and Creative Director at adidas, Mark Miner, who was previously Senior Footwear Designer at Nike. Rumoured to be releasing sometime in Summer 2019, this could end up being the ultimate summer shoe.
adidas Yeezy 451
Time to talk about some brand new models. Unveiled by Kanye himself back in April, the adidas Yeezy 451 is as unique as it gets. Featuring a distinctive midsole with moulded spikes that wrap around the upper, this chunky crep was designed by legendary designer Steven Smith, who created the Reebok Insta Pump Fury, the Nike Air Max 2009, and the New Balance 574, before joining the Yeezy team back in 2016. Set to drop in mid-2019 in a slew of different colourways, this is going to be a hit.
adidas Yeezy 1050
A follow-up to the Yeezy 950, the adidas Yeezy 1050 was actually teased by Kanye himself all the way back in February 2016. Featuring a military boot-like look, this shoe will boast an extra thick midsole complete with Continental rubber for added durability. A hard toebox adorns the front with embossed Three Stripe branding, and a heel tab features around the back for added convenience. A release date is currently unknown, so keep your eyes peeled.
adidas Yeezy Basketball
Back in September, Kanye teased the release of the upcoming adidas Yeezy Basketball. Adorned with a jagged print graphic sitting behind 3M wavy stripes, other features include a semi-translucent midsole that looks to be infused with Boost technology or adiPRENE. According to our sources, this basketball shoe will release sometime in Spring 2019 and will debut in a unique ‘Quantum’ colourway that will surely turn heads for many years to come.
adidas Yeezy Terrex
Absolutely nothing is known about the adidas Yeezy Terrex, but going by its name and the illustration, the shoe could be part of adidas’ Terrex line, making them perfect for mountain walking, hiking, and other outdoor excursions whatever the weather may be. Featuring a chunky midsole, the shoe could be infused with Boost technology or adiPRENE, but nothing has been confirmed. A release date is currently unknown, so keep your eyes peeled.
