Many sneakerheads were shocked over the weekend as Pharrell's latest Hu NMD collection didn't instantly sellout, as expected.
It's understandable given all previous styles were near impossible to buy - with some re-selling for more than triple the retail price! This was a shoe considered just as sought after as Kanye's Yeezy 350's or Virgil's Off-White x Nike collaboration. But that may have just changed as most sizes are still available via adidas UK.
Could the hype be over or is this particular 'Afro' Collection just a step too far when it comes to "eye-catching"; footwear?!

If it wasn't that funky print creating controversy for the Pharrell x adidas Afro Hu NMD Pack, many fans were angered by the price tag. The shoe, first released back in 2016, initially sold for £175. The following year and that already expensive price was hiked up to £200. This latest collection is the most difficult to justify yet, selling for just shy of £220.

That bizarre colourway matched with a less than desirable price tag might go someway to explaining why you can still cop. Size runs also look to be larger this time around which might be disappointing for collectors who appreciate "rare"; footwear, especially when paying such an inflated price.
That said, Pharrell's Hu NMD Collection is likely to stick around for some time. Many are calling for a more simplistic design. And with the Afro 'Pack' receiving such an underwhelming response, Pharrell Williams might just opt for a muted colour scheme next time around.
