Remember the good old days when you would run home from school and immediately put on your favourite cartoons? Batman, The Simpsons, and Pokemon – these are just a few of the classic TV shows that shaped our childhoods and made us into the sneakerheads we are today.

However, have you ever wondered what your favourite characters would be if they were sneakers? Well, wonder no more, as we’ve made it our duty to answer this all important question. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your trip down memory lane.

adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 ‘Bred’

To start things off, we think that Batman would be the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 ‘Bred’. Dark, stealthy, silent yet violent, the sneaker has been a grail for many of us ever since it dropped back in February of last year, and with how things are going, resell prices will probably soar pass the Dark Knight’s annual income very soon.

adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 ‘Beluga 2.0’

With the catchphrase “Eh, What’s up Doc?”, it would be too easy to throw Bugs Bunny a pair of Doc Martens and call it a day, that’s why we think he’d be better suited rocking the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 ‘Beluga 2.0’’ instead. Grey like Bugs himself, orange accents around the shoe resemble his favourite snack. No wonder Elmer Fudd is always trying to hunt him down.

adidas Originals Yung-1 ‘Hi Res Orange’

Considered to be one of the best dads in anime history, the adidas Originals Yung-1 ‘Hi Res Orange’ dad shoe is perfect as Son Goku himself. Painted in his signature orange, blue, and yellow colour scheme, the shoe is a perfect reflection of his humble and honest nature. We’re actually kind of surprised that these didn’t end up as part of the upcoming Dragon Ball Z x adidas Originals collection.

Nike Air Max 1 ‘Blue Recall’

A classic silhouette for a classic cartoon, we think Homer Simpson would be the Nike Air Max 1 ‘Blue Recall’. Although it’s definitely not the most popular colourway of the bunch, it will get you by without a hitch, kind of like Homer himself. A timeless shoe for a timeless show.

Pharrell Williams x adidas Originals NMD ‘Yellow’

Although Pikachu definitely isn’t the rarest Pokemon out there, he’s definitely the best, just like the Pharrell Williams x adidas Originals NMD ‘Yellow’. Released back in summer 2016, this sneaker has won the hearts of millions. No wonder Pokemon’s tagline is “Gotta catch NMD all”! Wait, it’s not? Moving on then.

Nike Air MAG

The sneaker of choice for Rick Sanchez, of Rick and Morty fame, would most definitely be the Nike Air MAG. Frequently travelling back and forth among different universes and eras, the cartoon actually originated from an animated short parody film of Back To The Future named The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti. Additionally, the Air MAGs perfectly suit Rick’s outfit.

adidas Ultra Boost Mid ‘Run Thru Time’

Selling out as quickly as Sonic the Hedgehog’s sprint, which is 2887 miles per hour to be exact, the adidas Ultra Boost Mid ‘Run Thru Time’ is the perfect sneaker as Sonic. Painted in his signature blue shade, accents of red are present to reflect his iconic shoes.

adidas Originals NMD R1 ‘Yellow’

One of the OG NMDs, the adidas Originals NMD R1 ‘Yellow’ has Spongebob Squarepants written all over it. Featuring a perforated Primeknit upper, like a sponge, the sneaker is extremely popular with sneakerheads everywhere. To add to this, the sponge-like Boost midsole makes this sneaker one of the comfiest under the sea!

adidas Alphaedge 4D

On the other side of the spectrum, the adidas Alphaedge 4D is very much like everyone’s favourite clarinet player, Squidward Tentacles. Featuring a grey and ‘Ash Green’ colour combination, everything about this shoe screams Squidward. Though it might look simple and understated, it’s actually pretty sophisticated with its innovative Futurecraft 4D midsole.

Nike Air Max 1 OG ‘University Red’

And last but not least, how can we write anything about cartoon characters without including Family Guy’s Stewie Griffin? Similar to the Nike Air Max 1 OG ‘University Red’, the AM1 is a classic shoe for a classic show. Featuring a playful exterior, the shoe actually carries with it a massive amount of knowledge and sophistication, just like Stewie himself.
