adidas is scheduled to release the hotly anticipated Futurecraft 4D in limited quantities sometime later this year, but given its extremely high demand and low supply, it’s very unlikely that the high tech model will be available to the majority of the public. However, adidas have officially taken the wraps off the AlphaEdge 4D LTD, which may allow the masses to have their first taste of Futurecraft technology.
Boasting an upper made of FORGEFIBER — a process that uses TPU-coated yarn and stitching compression at pressure points for ultimate strength in motion — and a unique lacing system, the sneaker sits on top of a sole unit made with light and oxygen via Digital Light Synthesis, a 3D printing process that provides unprecedented support, cushioning, and energy return.
For the time being, the adidas AlphaEdge 4D LTD is a Los Angeles exclusive shoe. The sneaker will begin reservation at $300 (£220) using the adidas app, not adidas Confirmed, with pick up on February 17th at adidas’s Santa Monica and Culver City stores in Los Angeles.
Customers must download the adidas app and sign up to participate in the drop between February 12th and February 15th. Reservations for store pick up will be confirmed on a first come, first served basis once the reservation window opens later today. Limited pairs will also be available on adidas’s web store and in three retail locations across the Los Angeles area including Nice Kicks, BAIT, and UNDEFEATED starting February 17th.
