Nike continues to explore their archived range of Air Max silhouettes which can only come as good news for serious collectors. But even for the average sneakerhead, these revivals don’t go unnoticed. Last year’s range of Air Max 97s brought a new level of respect for that icon and as Nike celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Air Max 98, there’s never been a more appealing choice of colourways.
Pushing forward with this old-school exploration, the Air Max Deluxe is next to make a comeback. It’s not quite as memorable as other Air Maxs but that’s not to say a re-release won’t be well received.
According to sources, the Air Max Deluxe is releasing in early July in a ‘Photo Blue/Wolf Grey/ Orange‘ colourway.
First seen in the late 90s, it was the innovative construction that set it apart from the Air Max 97. Sure, the midsole was exactly the same but a stretchy neoprene upper contoured to the foot with interwoven fibres for added support.
Not everyone will appreciate this loud colourway but a handful of other styles are expected to launch following this OG release.
In the meantime, leave us a comment below and let us know your thoughts on the Air Max Deluxe. Is this more old-school perfection from Nike or should it be left in the past?!
