Stormzy took to the stage over the weekend for the MTV EMA Awards but it wasn’t his energetic performance of ‘In A Police Car’ that created waves across social media. The Yeezy Mafia called-out the UK grime artist for his choice of footwear – a pair of the unreleased Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Beluga 2.0s.

These were fakes, according to The Yeezy Mafia.

Stormzy didn’t take the allegations lightly, responding to The Yeezy Mafia’s close-up shots by posting images of the shoe box to confirm their legitimacy.

Sneakerheads and fans of Stormzy were quick to point out that Jon Wexler – VP for adidas global entertainment & influencer marketing – had earlier posted on his Insta story shouting-out Stormzy for his choice of footwear.

It would suggest that the pair were gifted to the grime artist who also happens to be an adidas ambassador.

That Insta post was later removed and Stormzy deleted several of the tweets which were posted during this Twitter spat.

Leave us a comment below and let us know your thoughts? As an adidas ambassador, are these likely to be the real deal or did Stormzy get tricked by the impressive level of forgery?

Don’t miss the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Beluga 2.0 when it officially launches on Saturday 25th November.
