Perhaps the most underrated collaboration of the month, the atmos x Nike Air Max 2 Light hit shelves at the start of April on April 5th, and for some odd reason, it’s still available! First unveiled at ComplexCon last year, this shoe reworks in ’90s cult classic and gives it a colour scheme that’s made to turn heads. Translucent plastic overlays feature throughout the upper, while a comfortable Air midsole sits down below for extreme comfort.
One of the most hyped trainers of 2018 dropped in another colourway on April 6th, and it’s still sitting! Marking the second ZX4000 4D shoe, the adidas ZX 4000 4D ‘Carbon’ is painted in an all-black colour scheme with yellow and teal accents featuring throughout for a pop of contrast. Crafted from Primeknit, a full length Futureraft 4D midsole in ‘Aero Green‘ features down below for for extra comfort and endless cushioning.
Thanks to style icons like Travis Scott, the Nike Air Jordan 1 Low ‘University Gold’ has enjoyed a massive surge in popularity since it hit shelves on April 13th. Taking inspiration from the Swoosh’s skateboarding silhouettes, the shoe arrives in the traditional colour blocked aesthetic and is fashioned from a premium combination of luxe leather and supple suede. A shoe that dropped in various colourways, this is probably the best one.
After a year, the Swoosh finally unleashed the Nike ‘On Air’ collection on April 13th. Normally for these types of posts we’d choose the best from the pack, but this was impossible in this case! Comprising of the the Air Max 97 ‘Neon Seoul’, the Air Max 97 ‘Shanghai Kaleidoscope’, the Air Max 97 ‘London Summer of Love’, the Air Max 98 ‘La Mezcla’, the Air Max 1 ‘Tokyo Maze’, and the Air VaporMax Plus ‘Paris’, all six designs are as unique as it gets, and some of them are still available to buy right now!
Following an extremely limited drop earlier this year, the highly coveted BAPE x Neighborhood x adidas POD-S3.1 ‘NHBAPE’ got a much wider release this month on April 19th! Arriving in a black and white palette, NIGO’s label’s 1ST CAMO motif graces the entire upper, with NBHD’s signature skull and crossbones mixed in for good measure. If you didn’t get a chance to cop back in January, this was a much-welcomed re-release.
Releasing on April 20th, or 4/20… or Weed Day, the Nike SB Dunk High ‘Walk The Dog’ was a surprise release that wasn’t for the faint of heart. Dressed in a varity of canine-related patterns and furs, a canvas Swoosh graces the lateral and medial sides, imitating a dog’s collar. Down below, you’ll find a clean white midsole that’s accented by patches brown – representing a dog’s freshly-produced poo. Yeah, you read that correctly.
After months of waiting, we finally saw the release of the Donald Glover x adidas ‘Donald Glover Presents’ Collection this month on April 25th! Marking Childish Gambino’s first signature sneaker range, it includes the Continental 80, the Nizza, and the Lacombe, all of which are painted in a clean off-white hue with pre-distressed detailing throughout. While these might not be for everyone, they’re some of the best summer shoes money can buy.
The Swoosh reworked the iconic AM180 silhouette on April 26th with the AMBUSH x Nike Air Max 180 High ‘White’! Made in collaboration with South Korean fashion designer Yoon Ahn, she replaced the model’s laced upper with a clean white shroud that’s unlike anything else out there. A black zipper closure similar to what is found on the Air Zoom Flight The Glove shoots down the middle, rounding off the runway-ready look.
Marking his second sneaker collaboration with the Swoosh, Jerry Lorenzo unleashed the Nike Air Fear Of God Raid ‘Light Bone’ on April 27th to critical acclaim. Paying homage to the 1992 Air Raid with the iconic “X” forefoot straps, the shoe is painted in an ultra clean off-white hue, and sits on top of a double-stacked Zoom Air unit that is completed with a translucent blue piece, providing the shoe with a pop of contrast.
And last but not least, we have the adidas Yeezy 700 ‘Analog’. Hitting shelves on April 27th, it’s regarded by many as the shoe of the summer! Ultra luxe leather and buttery smooth suede make up the chunky sneaker’s upper, and down below, an aggressively styled foam midsole is present, housing a full length Boost midsole for comfort that you can write home about. Strangely enough, you can still buy this Kanye x adidas sneaker for retail, so get copping before it sells out!
