Regarded by many as the best Kanye x adidas sneaker since the 'Turtle Dove', the adidas Yeezy Boost 700 'Inertia' launched on March 9th and sneakerheads everywhere absolutely loved it. Painted in an ultra clean blue-ish grey hue with light orange accents throughout for a pop of contrast, this chunky sneaker is crafted from luxe suede, premium leather, and breathable mesh, and rests atop a chunky Boost infused midsole which is finished off with a tough and durable rubber outsole down under.
Next stop, we have Jumpman's latest innovation in the form of the Jordan Apex Utility 'Black'. Released on March 14th, this futuristic silhouette takes design cues from the Swoosh's ISPA initiative, with a translucent TPE shroud and a black and red upper that kind of resembles the iconic 'Bred'. Getting technical with a dual tongue design and bold pull tabs, other than the “JUMPMAN” text that's printed on the vamp, no Swoosh or Jumpman branding can be found anywhere, lending for a unique yet understated look
The Nike Air Max 90 'Mars Landing' caught the imagination of sneakerheads around the world when they touched down on March 16th. The successor to 2014's 'Moon Landing', the upper here is inspired by the rocky surface of the Red Planet. A seamless, one-piece design gives the shoe a space suit type of vibe, and this is emphasised with a large silver tongue brand that provides a very subtle pop of contrast. A black speckled midsole rounds it all off, resembling stars in a night sky.
The first sneaker to drop as part of March 16th's 'Special Release' collection, the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 'True Form' was exclusive to Europe, Russia, and Ukraine. Painted in an ultra clean grey hue, Primeknit dresses the entire upper for a sock-like fit. Like last year's 'Static', a transparent stripe shoots down the lateral and medial sides, replacing the “SPLY-350” text that you'd find on models of the past. Selling out within seconds, this shoe proves that Yeezy hype definitely isn't dead.
One of the most hyped general releases of the year, the Nike Air Max 97 LX 'Throwback Future' has made its way to sneaker collections everywhere since it dropped on March 21st. Painted in a black colour scheme, iridescent purple accents feature throughout for a futuristic aesthetic. Made from a combination of supple leather and breathable mesh, a Foamposite-inspired vamp makes its way here. To round off the design, a full length Air unit is present down below for unbeatable comfort with every step.
After months upon months of waiting, the Game Of Thrones x adidas Ultra Boost Collection was finally unleashed on March 22nd. Inspired by the fantasy drama's houses, including House Lannister, House Stark, and House Targaryen, the highly coveted range also pays homage to major aspects of the HBO series, including the White Walkers, the Night's Watch, and of course, Targaryen's Dragons. Normally we'd pick one sneaker from every collection for these types of posts, but it's literally impossible to choose the best one.
The second chunky Kanye sneaker to drop within a month, the adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V2 'Geode' hit shelves on March 23rd and was met with a pretty mixed reaction. Fashioned from a healthy dose of leather and suede, breathable mesh is also thrown into the mix for all-year-round wear. Thick rope laces and an intricately detailed design lend for a somewhat aggressive aesthetic, and down below, a chunky foam midsole houses a full length Boost unit for unbelievable comfort.
Reviving the retro silhouette for the modern era, the Supreme x Nike Air Tailwind IV 'Red' has hype written all over it! Released on March 23rd, the retro dad shoe is painted in the streetwear label's classic red and white colour palette and is crafted from premium leather and breathable mesh. Down below, an Air infused midsole is present for additional comfort and a smoother stride, complete with visible bubbles for that classic-meets-contemporary look that's huge this year.
The adidas AlphaEdge 4D 'White' actually made its debut back in November, but the Three Stripes gave it a restock on March 27th just in time for the warmer months. An ultra clean version of the OG pair that released last year, it features a FORGEFIBER upper that combines TPU and yarn to create a structure that's both stretchy and strong. Down below, a chunkier-than-before 'Aero Green' midsole is present, crafted from light and oxygen through Digital Light Synthesis. If you've never tried 4D, this is your chance.
Initially set to release alongside the rest of the 'Special Release' collection, the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 'Clay' was delayed until March 30th for unknown reasons. Made exclusively for North and South American sneakerheads, this orange sneaker is unlike any Kanye sneaker we've seen before. Like the aforementioned 'True Form' a transparent side stripe hits the laterial side panels so sneakerheads can flex the socks they're wearing. Additionally, a uniquely shaped midsole houses a full length Boost unit for unforgettable comfort with every step.
