The technique of sashiko is one the Nike brand has become all too familiar with over the years. Translating in English to "little stabs," sashiko is defined by simple running stitches that repeat or interlock to form traditional Japanese geometric patterns. Having applied this customary Japanese art to an array of silhouettes previously, the Swoosh brand is now looking to apply the same principles to the Air Jordan 1 Low.
Atop an aged brown midsole, the Air Jordan 1 Low "Sashiko" flaunts distressed denim uppers with a free-flowing raw stitched pattern contrasting with a white hue. These same overlays sit in contrast to a white canvas underlay, delivering a spring and summer-like aesthetic. A black Nike Swoosh lines the lateral and medial walls, backed up by a set of "Sail" laces and a beige collar. To finish, cork insoles feature a mishmash of graphics underfoot.
As it stands, details surrounding the Air Jordan 1 Low "Sashiko" are scarce, so make sure to keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for all the latest on release dates and more. In other footwear news, Nike's newest Air Max 1 Premium "Treeline" takes its theme literally.
