There’s no hiding the fact that the Yeezy Boost 700 V2 ‘Geode’ isn’t exactly the most popular of sneakers. Set to drop this Saturday, March 23rd at 7am over at adidas UK, the chunky shoe was met with a ton of negative criticism when it first leaked at the end of last year.
That said, if you think nothing but worst of the ‘Geode’, we think we might be able to change your opinion of it! For more content like this, be sure to download the official The Sole Supplier app for free right now!
Birth of an icon
As the second Yeezy Boost 700 V2 since 2018, the ‘Geode‘ is still in the early stages of the iconic silhouette. With its distinctively over-panelled aesthetic and intricately designed upper, in years to come, it’ll be named as one of the OG colourways – and we all know how much OGs can sell for. The ‘Turtle Dove‘ still sells for around £1,000 a pop, and the ‘Beluga‘ is heading in the same direction with a £550 resale price, even after yesterday’s shock restock.
History repeats itself
Picture this: It’s November 2017, and adidas just unveiled the brand new ‘Semi Frozen Yellow‘. This 350 v2 took an absolute hammering from sneakerheads, with some criticising its peculiar shade of yellow and the gum rubber outsole underfoot. That said, fast forward a few years and it’s literally become one of the most sought-after colourways in the history of Kanye x adidas. We think the exact same thing will happen with this weekend’s ‘Geode‘.
According to our sources, almost 20,000 pairs of the ‘Geode‘ will be available from adidas EU. While that number may sound like a lot, it really isn’t. To put it into perspective, around 20,000 pairs of the ‘Inertia‘ were loaded onto adidas UK alone, so this makes the ‘Geode’ so much more limited in comparison. Additionally, around 49,000 pairs of the ‘True Form‘ were available from adidas EU last weekend, and they sold out within seconds! This means the ‘Geode’ is one of the most exclusive Yeezys ever.
All day every day
While ‘Triple Black‘ sneakers are pretty popular, not everyone likes an all-black shoe – and that’s where the ‘Geode‘ comes in. While it does make use of black, earthy brown and dark grey hues are also thrown into the mix for a look that’s perfect for all-year-round wear. What’s more, a full length Boost midsole features underfoot for unbelievable comfort and cushioning, while a durable gum rubber outsole makes these the perfect crep to rock all day, every day.
Next level premium
If you’ve ever held the Yeezy Boost 700 V2 in-hand, you’ll know what we’re talking about. This Saturday’s ‘Geode‘ is crafted from some of the most premium materials known to man. Buttery smooth leather meets silky soft suede for a shoe that’s made to turn heads. On top of this, a bouncy, breathable mesh makes its way throughout for the ultimate all-day experience, while 3M reflective material makes its way throughout, so you’ll be noticed even in the dark.
There’s no hiding the fact that the ‘Geode‘ is unlike anything else out there. Stealthy without being too stealthy and chunky without being too chunky, there’s nothing else like it in the market. If you’ve got bold taste and you don’t mind being the centre of attention, you need to cop the ‘Geode‘ when it launches this Saturday, March 23rd at 7am over at adidas UK.
