Well, this was unexpected. Since 2013, Drake x Jordan Brand has been one of the most coveted artist collaborations of the last decade. Through his exclusive footwear and apparel releases, the rapper has been dishing out heat after heat after heat. However, it looks like this partnership has been anything but easy for Drizzy, as rumour has it that he may be signing with none other than adidas.
According to industry experts, Drake is unhappy with his current deal with Jumpman and desires more creative control. Of course, this is also the reason why Kanye West jumped ship from the Swoosh. In 2015, adidas’ own Jon Wexler tweeted, “They offered him more money than we did, and he took our offer because we offered him full creative reign.”

The Three Stripes has already overtaken Jordan Brand as the number two brand for sports footwear, and if the 6 God is indeed partnering up with them, he would be joining the ranks of Pharrell Williams, Pusha T, and Ye, giving adidas the most powerful roster of entertainers at their disposal. Only time will tell whether or not this will create a monopoly in market, but as of yet, neither Drake nor Jordan Brand have made an official statements on the matter, so keep it locked at The Sole Supplier for more news as it develops.
