The adidas XPLR Blue is being coined as the ‘future of footwear’ but how innovative is this design and could it revolutionise the sneaker scene as we know it? Here we take a closer look at this brand-new release and shed some light on the upcoming runner.

It’s been a crazy year for sneakerheads with so many exclusive silhouettes all fighting for the limelight. It’s been the contemporary releases which came out on top. That said, you can expect more hype when the XPLR makes an appearance.

Does it look familiar?

Clearly inspired by the adidas NMD, a refined upper is crafted from lightweight Primeknit and features a leather lace surround. At first glance it takes on all the style cues of the popular ‘Nomad’ but look closer and you’ll notice some unique features.

A ground-breaking lacing system does away with traditional laces in favour of the lazy mans alternative. This easy-to-tie design is possible thanks to an elasticated set of laces and toggle pull system. It couldn’t be easier to adapt the fit to your liking.

This style features a full blue colourway which is balanced out by a white midsole underfoot. Deep tread brings some protection on those icy mornings while adidas Originals branding is marked to both the tongue and heel. .
