ASICS x Colette Gel Lyte V Yukata

It’s not the first time that Parisian retailer Colette has joined forces with ASICS. Several high profile releases in the past have paved the way for this impressive partnership. Coming together, the two brands have now re-created the Gel Lyte V – one of ASICS most popular models. Let’s take a closer look at the ASICS x Colette Gel Lyte V Yukata.

This design may look muted and understated but look again and you’ll notice some unique detailing. It comes in the form of a print motif which is stamped across the upper. Half semi-circles are actually a Japanese inspired print to pay homage to the Kimono – a bathing robe traditionally adorned with intricate patterns.

Initially unveiled at Japanese Fashion Week, the ‘Yukata’ pack was met with hype from sneaker enthusiasts. Aside from that striking print, the shoe remains minimalist in a full shade of white which hits those leather overlays. As always, a neoprene inner lining delivers the comfort as does the chunky Gel Lyte midsole underfoot. Subtle touches of blue feature on the midsole and customary branding.

The ASICS x Colette Gel Lyte V Yukata is scheduled to release on Saturday 29th October via the retailers listed.
