Nike Air Max 97 Grey Sail

While many people think that Nike’s Air Max 97 was inspired by Japanese bullet trains, the shoe’s designer, Christian Tresser, was actually inspired by mountain bikes. This is why the initial colourways were metallic. Introducing one of the latest editions of the silhouette, the Nike Air Max 97 “Grey Sail”.

This AM97 has an ethereal quality to it. The mesh base is a platinum grey whilst the wavy overlays on the rest of the shoe are a combination of sail and pale grey. The rope-like laces and the mesh sock liner are sail-hued. Bluish grey joins the colour palette by way of the mesh tongues and the pull tabs on the tongues and heels. The embroidered signature profile Swooshes on the midfoot windows are metallic silver. A sail-coloured midsole with a full-length exposed Air unit and a white rubber outsole wrap up the design of this shoe.
