Real sneakerheads will already know what the reference to 87 means on this premium silhouette. The Nike Air Max 1 87 Tinker Hatfield of course pays homage to the year which Hatfield unleashed the AM1 to the world. The source of inspiration came from the French building The Pompidou which has an all-glass exterior, allowing what is inside to be seen from the outside. The same goes for Nike’s innovative Air Max technology thanks to the visible air unit in the heel.
For this clean and simple colourway, a bold “87 is printed on the heel of each shoe, replacing the familiar AM branding. A clear air unit is housed in the white midsole while a small Black swoosh cuts across the sidewall.
There will also be a similar styled Air Max BW launching soon, however we’ll have to keep you posted on this as not much is known about it.
