First joining forces all the way back in 2003, Nike SB and eBay auctioned a one-off pair of SB Dunk Lows via the famous auction site, with all proceeds going to a foundation dedicated to Tim Braunch, an American skateboarder who died from cardiac arrest aged just 25. Although only one pair was auctioned, three pairs in total were reduced, with one cut into four pieces and the third gifted to Sandy Bodecker (the founder of Nike SB) on his last day working for Nike. Sadly, Sandy passed away from throat cancer in 2018, but now the Bodecker Foundation will join forces with eBay and Nike SB once again, to “put the pieces back together again” - a reference to the pair that was cut into four.
Now revealed via leaked images, the eBay x Nike SB Dunk Low “2022” offers up a unique look that mimics the cut-up pair joined back together again with transparent panels. The pair adopts the same colour scheme as the original eBay Dunk, although flips it for a new look. We don’t know too much else about this release just yet, but it’s set to be a big one for serious sneakerheads.
