With the ZX series adidas aimed to create a collection of trainers which addressed the needs which runners had. The ZX 8000 was released in the 1980s and was the first shoe to make use of adidas' new Torsion system which would provide arch support, stability and comfort throughout the foot. This is technology which is still used today in many adidas models but it most commonly related to the ZX series.
