adidas continues to make waves in the world of golf by transforming some of its most iconic footwear designs for the green. It seems like the iconic German brand has shifted its attention to the ZX 8000 Golf silhouette.
Originally introduced in the signature 'Clear Aqua/Shock Yellow/Light Aqua' colour scheme, the latest iteration of the ZX 8000 Golf arrives in a low key 'Core Black/Aura Black/Silver Metallic' palette. Built for performance, the shoe features weather resistant GORE-TEX material as its foundation, complemented by tumbled leather overlays and durable plastic panels, ensuring it’s primed for any challenge on the course.
Subtle touches of 'Aura Black,' with its almost purple hue, accent the Three Stripes, achilles heel, and the classic midsole, strikingly contrasting the primarily black design. Meanwhile, 'Silver Metallic' elements enhance the look, appearing on the toe, sidewalls, and tongue label.
First launched in 1989 as a premier performance running sneaker, the ZX 8000 was celebrated for its high quality construction, which offered a lightweight, breathable, and durable ride. Signature features like the support clip at the heel ensured stability, while the rugged outsole performed seamlessly on varying terrains.
The Torsion system provided essential midfoot support, reducing the risk of injuries like foot rolling. For its modern golf adaptation, adidas has layered in responsive BOOST cushioning, elevating comfort and functionality in the spike less design.
While an official release date by adidas has yet to be announced, the launch is expected to coincide with the Masters Tournament beginning April 10. The GORE-TEX equipped, BOOST cushioned ZX 8000 Golf shoe is expected to retail for £110.
