The Onitsuka Tiger brand is one of the most revered and coveted labels in the sneaker community. Founded by Kihachiro Onitsuka in 1949, this small Japanese label would go on to become one of the largest sneaker manufacturers in the world.
After returning from the war, Kihachiro set up the company in Kobe with just 4 employees and 300,000 yen. As the company continued to expand and Onitsuka was becoming a household name in the land of the rising sun, a rebrand was needed and ASICS was born.
Today, Tiger is still producing some exceptional sneakers. With famed collabs with the likes of Hanon and The Good Will Out, none of these quite compare to the cultural impact seen from the Kill Bill Mexico 66. Matching The Bride's yellow and black motorcycle leathers, this vibrant sneaker is now synonymous with the martial arts movie.
