Anyone familiar with the German supermarket chain Lidl will likely know of its famed "middle aisle." Its origins aren't exactly clear, but the middle aisle has developed a reputation that truly proceeds itself as sort of a one-stop shop for appliances, gadgets, tools and everything in between. A treasure trove for homeowners around Europe, if you will. In celebration of the middle aisle, Lidl has staged its very own runway show ahead of London Fashion Week, with the best of the aisle's goods flaunted as accessories.
Everyone's favourite bestsellers, such as the highly sought-after air fryer, the all-purpose tool kit, and the immersion blender, have each been utilised as clothing accessories, truly bringing a new sense to the word homeware. While playful in its delivery, this campaign does a great job at highlighting just what the supermarket has to offer as well as challenging the idea of just what exactly can be a fashion show. With London Fashion Week so set in its ways, it is a breath of fresh air to see a large chain almost poke fun at the luxury fashion zeitgeist. Check out the full section of photos below! In other fashion news, Stüssy x Levi's tease an upcoming collaboration.
