Bob Marley's influence goes far beyond his music, extending to themes of love, unity, and social justice. To celebrate his legacy, adidas is releasing a special edition of the SL runner, a sneaker which Marley himself was pictured wearing in an old photo from 1976. The upcoming "One Love" SL 72 is set to embody Marley's style and message, coming in a design as timeless as Marley himself.
Taking a closer look at this release, it is full of small details, one of the most poignant of which is is the black-and-white image of Marley showcased on the tongue, a tribute usually reserved for iconic adidas athlete models such as the Stan Smith and Jabbar basketball shoe . The upper is made of a combination of Black suede and leather for a stylish contrast, while you get Marley's Gold-scripted signature adorning the heel.
Looking inside the shoe, you will notice the insole features a co-branded graphic with "adidas" and "Bob Marley" repeating alongside each other. This is a detail adidas states is a mark of the forever respect between the brand and the music legend.
