Having caused quite the stir when it was first revealed back in January, Dior has officially dropped its capsule collection with Birkenstock. The French fashion house and German sandal brand teamed up to add a luxury touch to two timeless silhouettes: the Tokio Mule and Milano Sandal.
Inspired by Christian Dior’s love of gardening, the collection saw both models reimagined in ultra-premium finishes, including nubuck calfskin and felted wool. Added luxury details include metallic Dior and Birkenstock wordmarks on the footbeds, ALYX-style rollercoaster buckles and logo-heavy treads. Marrying Birkenstock’s approach to functional footwear with Dior’s elegant touch, both styles offer an elevated take on the everyday staples.
This isn’t the only luxury collab Birkenstock has dropped recently. Last year the brand teamed up with Jil Sander on a number of styles, before collaborating with Manolo Blahnik on some seriously opulent, velvet-clad versions of the fan favourite Arizona and Boston silhouettes.
The pairs are available to buy now at Dior – but be warned: they come with a hefty price tag, starting at £840 a pair. Still, if you’re looking for some seriously special sandals, be sure to head over to Dior to secure your size.
