No longer swayed by hype, but always ahead of the trends, Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear of God label brings its minimal yet luxurious touch to a new style of sandal this year, in collaboration with Birkenstock. Having linked up with the German sandal brand to introduce the “Los Feliz” model in suede back in January, Lorenzo’s label has readied a new finish for the style, now arriving with a soft felt upper.
Birkenstock is no stranger to working with fashion brands - particularly those that lean more towards luxury. Over the past couple of years, the brand has joined forces with the likes of Jil Sander and Rick Owens, with its 1774 division dedicated to special projects and collaborations. Having joined forces with Fear of God earlier this year, the duo launched the Los Feliz sandal, which is named after the LA neighbourhood whose hillscape inspired the shoe.
Here, an oversized, felted one-strap upper arrives in a range of tonal colourways, while cork-latex footbeds come topped with matching suede for a soft feel underfoot. Co-branding then hits the insoles for a minimal take that won’t be noticeable when worn. Arriving in two lowkey colourways “Cement Melange” and “Ash Melange” the pairs are perfect for summer and set to drop in both adults’ and kids’ sizing.
The pairs are set to drop at global retailers on the 24th of Feb, so be sure to hit the release reminders if you’re thinking of copping a pair.
Up next, more Aimé Leon Dore New Balance could be on the way.
