New Balance is gearing up to release a fresh lifestyle sneaker: the Abzorb 2000. Previewed on Instagram by stylist @soaressssssssssssssss, this new silhouette is already turning heads.
While it shares a name with the original New Balance 2000 introduced in the early 2000s, the Abzorb 2000 brings a modern update, drawing design inspiration from the recent 9060 model. The sneaker boasts a textile mesh upper paired with clean overlay panels that extend from the heel to the forefoot. As always, the iconic "N" logo is prominently displayed at the midfoot, while the podular styled midsole features New Balance's signature Abzorb cushioning for premium comfort.
The tongue and lacing stick to a classic setup, preserving the retro runner look. However, the standout feature is the midsole's innovative cushioning design. On the lateral side, the sole incorporates five distinct Abzorb pods, each with a horizontal crease to enhance flexibility. The medial side mirrors this arrangement but includes an exposed midfoot plate for added support. At the heel, the cushioning splits, echoing the design language of the 9060’s platform.
While New Balance has not yet officially announced the release, the sneaker was revealed by Gustavo Soares, a São Paulo based stylist. Keep an eye out for more details as we learn more about this awesome new model!
