A perfect spring staple, the humble denim jacket will always have a responsibility to save us from those awful 'in-between' temperatures when you're never quite sure what to wear. The transitional months always cause some fuss when it comes to styling, for constant fear of being too hot or too cold, however, if you've got a denim jacket, then those fears evaporate into trivialities. No matter what's trending or what the current obsessions are for that year, there's one thing that remains the same: a denim jacket will always have a place in your wardrobe.
Our favourite one this season has got to be adidas'. Constructed with an '80s look in mind, this light-wash denim jacket uses the Three-Stripes Brand's iconic Colorado design lines. The loose fit means that there's plenty of room for layers underneath and provides a look that is both bang on trend and timeless simultaneously. Done up with the classic silver buttons at the front and decorated with adidas Trefoil logos on both the chest and the back of the jacket, this is one über-cool piece that will upgrade your spring-styling game for 2022.
Light Blue & Neutral Hues
For the first look, we paired the jacket with a neutral outfit that allows the statement piece to speak for itself. Coming either cropped or full length depending on your height, these popper trousers only add to the 1980s feel, whilst the elasticated top matches up perfectly. Warm, Coffee Tones for Cooler Days
We dialled it down for the second outfit, and paired the denim jacket with a monochrome look that suits both the gym and your morning coffee run. The darker tones contrast more strongly against the jacket than the previous outfit, but it works wonderfully all the same.
A Tomboy Take on The Summer Dress
Want to take the plunge and invest in a summer dress even though it wouldn't normally be your thing? Then this khaki ribbed dress is the one for you. If you didn't realise, green is in right now, and the denim jacket is the perfect item for throwing on when the nights start to get a little cooler.
Fruity Hues Add a Splash of Colour
For our fourth and final outfit, we took cues from the green dress above and opted for this skirt. A pop of colour is always welcome for the summer months, so we paired it with this bright orange tank top. The combination of colours complement each other well, and just prove how versatile the jacket is regardless of whether you prefer wearing neutral tones or bright ones.
What's On Foot?
To complete all the outfits, the adidas Forum Bold seemed the best choice. Both of these neutral options are sure to add a little luxury to your rotation and a chunky look to any of your 'fits. Whilst one is completely beige, the other combines different tones for a slightly altered look.
