Introducing the Waffle One: Nike's Ultimate Summer Sneaker

Hailed the king of GRs for 2021, the Nike Waffle One is one of our favourite new silhouettes from the Oregon-based brand. The Waffle One most definitely takes sporty-chic to the limit with clean lines and a super lightweight design. Built with a transparent mesh for ultimate breathability and the addition of soft suede for that premium feel, you don’t want to be the only person without a pair in your collection this summer.

We’ve been crushin’ hard on the ‘Active Fuchsia/University Gold’ colourway ever since its release! The titular 'University Gold' takes over the iconic Nike Swoosh on the medial and lateral sidewalls and matches to the obvious, corresponding stitching around the ankle. These friendly pops of yellow really stand out against the otherwise autumnal colour scheme, especially around the top of the tongue when compared to the all-black lace unit.

Complete with a matching black rubber, waffle outsole, similar to what we know and love from the legendary Air Max 90, this sneaker provides the traction and support we need for a whole range of activities. With the dark outsole being topped with a crisp-white midsole, followed by a cacophony of colours on the upper, this sneaker hits the perfect balance between monochrome and rainbow. Matching to the lace unit and outsole, the TPU feature on the rear of the trainer appears similar in design to the coveted sacai x Nike VaporWaffle. Meanwhile elsewhere, the suede covering the toe box provides that perfect harmony between the front and back of the shoe.
