At the end of last year, Nike announced that they had acquired virtual sneaker company RTFKT (pronounced artifact), marking their debut into the metaverse. Fast forward two months, and the duo have officially unveiled their very first NFT project, dubbed the Nike "MNLTH" NFT. Announced via Instagram, here's everything that we know so far.
As Drake once said, "If you're reading this it's too late". As soon as the "MNLTH" was announced, it instantly sold on OpenSea and was airdropped to current Clone X holders. RTFKT's Clone X by Takashi Murakami is currently one of the world's top traded non-fungible token collections, with a transaction volume of 114,600 ETH, which converts to around £260 million in "real money" terms.
The NFT itself comes in the form of a mysterious cube with futuristic geometric patterns etched across the surface. RTFKT's lightning bolt and Nike's Swoosh glow on the sides of the box, hinting that something pretty extraordinary is encased within.
Without a doubt, more RTFKT x Nike NFTs are set to be announced soon, so make sure you keep it locked at The Sole Supplier for more news as it develops.
