It seems everybody wants a bit of Stüssy recently, and who can blame them? The California-born surf imprint has seemingly moved from strength to strength in the last year or so, garnering a variety of new fans and bolstering its collaborative efforts in the process. Now, revealed via Instagram, British-Jamaican designer Martine Rose will be the next collaborator with Stüssy, offering a preview of what's to come.
On Monday, a joint Instagram post went out between both labels, simply offering a single image and a concise caption. The post itself read, "Stüssy & Martine Rose... expect perfection, Friday, April 14th 2023." Accompanying the text is an image shot by London-based photographer Rosie Marks. The image itself sees a pair of collaborative gloves grasped around the furry steering wheel of a car. Elsewhere, a fringed banner detail hangs from the vehicle's rear view mirror.
Just two days later, the two offered a full preview of the upcoming collection, reinforcing the automotive theme seen in the initial image. A Volkswagen Golf MK1, Nissan GT-R, and other heavily-modified vehicles play backdrop to a concise range of both apparel and accessories. Included, we see hoodies and tees supported by an array of car-themed accessories such as car mats, steering wheel covers, driving gloves, and a sun visor.
From a clothing perspective, both the tees and hoodies flaunt a collaborative logo on the front as well as a group graphic on the rear. Another T-Shirt addition is centred around two model-centric graphic designs, both flexing on the front and rear of the piece. For those looking to get their hands on the Martine Rose x Stüssy apparel and accessory collection, it will launch on Friday, the 14th of April online and a selected chapter stores. In other fashion news, Supreme x Timberland try their hands at an upcoming apparel collection.
