Aimé Leon Dore founder and Creative Director of New Balance’s Made in USA line Teddy Santis is known for his ultra-clean, grown-streetwear-style aesthetic, and it's that very look that’s dominated the sneaker scene over the past 12 months. Having dropped multiple colourways of the 990v1, v2 and v3 since May last year, Santis turns his attention to the 990v4, with two minimalist colourways set to drop very soon.
The next two pairs to land look set to be the cleanest yet, as Santis leans on New Balance’s dad shoe reputation for these fresh takes. The first pair takes on a very retro-style look, channelling quintessential Tennis vibes in bright white and forest green. The crisp shades come contrasted with cream notes on the uppers and midsoles, which add to the pair’s vintage vibes. The second pair continues on the cream theme, arriving in a predominantly neutral colour palette with a tonal scheme working its way from white accents, to the cream base to a tan suede heel tab, before a white and grey sole unit rounds it off underneath.
As expected, the two Made in USA 990v4s take on a premium construction - the former boasting a leather and mesh build, and the latter adding a measure of suede into the mix. ENCAP midsoles and EVA cushioning add a plush touch - dad shoes are built on comfort, after all.

Up next, JJJJound and Salomon team up for a summer release.
