Original Article: The Air Jordan 8 may not command the same hype as the Air Jordan 4 or Air Jordan 5, but its status as an underrated gem in MJ’s storied lineup remains intact. Despite its quieter presence in recent years, the excitement surrounding the return of the iconic “Aqua” colourway proves the silhouette still has a loyal fanbase.
If you’re among them, you’ll be pleased to know that first look images of the 2025 Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” have surfaced, sparking excitement for its upcoming release. They seem to be a 1:1 copy of the 1993 classic, sparing one very specific difference.
The Air Jordan 8 has historically stayed true to its original design, and the 2025 version continues that trend. Much like the 2018 edition, the shape and construction remain faithful to the 1993 OG model.
The familiar light grey back panels and collar outlines are back, maintaining their classic look, while the 2007 release remains the only iteration to feature a fully black upper. The 2025 Aqua retains the signature black and medium grey panelling that longtime fans will recognise from the 1993 original and the retros from 2015 and 2018.
However, the most significant change lies in the midsoles, which feature the iconic aqua blue and purple hues but without the usual sparkle detailing. This subtle tweak gives the shoe a more refined and mature look, appealing to both nostalgic purists and modern sneaker enthusiasts alike.
As the release date approaches, you can expect closer, more detailed looks at this highly anticipated retro. For now, these early glimpses provide a promising preview.
The Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” is dropping in July 2025, and it’s coming in full family sizing. The adut size is expected to retail for £200. Hit that 'Notify me' button and we'll inform you as soon as these sneakers drop next year.
