Why The adidas x Molly-Mae Collab Just Makes Sense

There we have it, a collaboration that we've been waiting for for years - Molly-Mae x adidas has finally been officially announced.

Since 2024, Molly-Mae has had the girlies (and their group chats) in a chokehold, effortlessly repping adidas silhouettes in that signature clean-girl, neutral-toned aesthetic she’s made her own.

Most specifically, it was the adidas Handball Spezial Earth Strata that really did numbers - Becoming The Sole Supplier's top selling shoe across 2024/2025. Suddenly, women in their 20s and 30s were swapping out their chunky dad trainers for something sleeker, suede, and unmistakably Spezial, all thanks to Molly’s subtle influence.

Fast-forward and 5 years after Molly-Mae left the Love Island villa, adidas has finally announced Molly as their latest collaborator. Teased on her Instagram a few days ago, Molly-Mae wrote, "This has been quietly going on behind the scenes for the past couple of years. It's a partnership I genuinely dreamed about and I still can't quite believe it's actually happening".

The collab announcement comes as no surprise to us at The Sole Supplier, as demand for the Handball Spezial has grown 190% year-on-year and even in 2026, we are still speaking about the "Molly-Mae effect".

Yet for some reason people are still not showing Molly-Mae the same respect as athelete collaborations, a debate our founder George weighed in on over on Substack.

So, how can you buy the adidas x Molly-Mae collaboration? Whilst exact details of the collab are still under wraps, expect a limited edition footwear collab and we're hoping an apparel collection will follow. Whether Molly-Mae will stick to launching her own adidas Handball Spezial or broaden her horizons into other adidas styles is unclear, but we're super excited to see what's next.
