It's the end of an era. After almost two decades at the Three Stripes, Head of Yeezy Jon Wexler is leaving adidas. One of the company's most prominent figures, he's credited as the sole person who moved Kanye West from Nike to adidas back in 2013.
In fact, during Ye's acceptance speech at the 2015 Footwear News Shoe Of The Year award for the Yeezy Boost 350 "Turtle Dove", he said, "If you guys want somebody to work with your company, find someone who knows about the person they’re talking to, a guy who’s got some real backstory", referring to Wex.
He also played a major role in bringing in some of the industry's biggest names including Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams. While we're not entirely sure what Wex has planned next, there's no doubt in anyone's mind that wherever he goes, the culture will follow, so we salute you, sir!
Make sure you watch The Sole Supplier's podcast with Jon Wexler himself down below which was filmed at the House of Classics event in Paris, and while you're here, you might as well check out every single Yeezy that's dropping from now until the end of 2020!
