Colorado-based designer Nicole McLaughlin incorporates her upcycling and DIY expertise into her collaborative project with renowned outdoor equipment brand Merrell. Consisting of three outdoor-ready styles, the joint venture spawns a brand-new model called Merrell Moc Speed Streak, derived from the iconic Jungle Moc silhouette from ‘98. This “Coyote Olive” rendition flaunts a neutral-toned colour scheme, highlighted by minimalist co-branding for a stylish transition from the terrain to the pavement.

As one of the fastest-rising designers in the industry, Nicole McLaughlin showcases her passion for the great outdoors to curate a trio of upcycled Merrell Moc Speed Streak 1TRL colourways, aptly dubbed “The Moc-Laughlin”. Whilst the design adds a modern aesthetic to the beloved Moc franchise, the silhouette maintains a versatile approach from a performance standpoint. This rendition has a beige mesh and suede upper, with grey and black nubuck leather overlays for durability. Perforations add optimal airflow, while the heel pull tab allows easy on and off. “M” logos adorn the tongue and lateral rear, with Merrell labels on the midsole area. A minimalist “nm” embellishes the blue tag on the lateral collar, juxtaposing the consistent neutral tones of the upper. Co-branded logos decorate the sockliner to mark their debut collaboration. The white midsole facilitates low-profile cushioning and stability, while the durable, rugged outsole ensures traction on all outdoor surfaces.
