Air Jordan 1 High OG Black Toe Reimagined

Jordan Brand casts its eyes on another iconic Air Jordan 1 for the Reimagined treatment, this time retro-ing the “Black Toe” colourway. The last time we saw this OG make-up was way back in 2016, an era before the Last Dance craze when everyone and anyone were flocking to the silhouette. Now paying homage to the infamous rookie Jordan photoshoot in Beaverton, where a young MJ has the pair slung over his shoulder, this edition sports a rare pre-Wings Insignia version that has somewhat been lost to the lulls of Swoosh history. While we aren’t certain that these are official images, it does seem a black “Air Jordan” spell-out will take up the position of the standard Wings logo, a key storytelling detail on this pair. Given that these take inspiration from the referenced photo, we are expecting these to come pre-laced with a red lace option and possibly the addition of the ’85 tooling that the “Metallic Burgundy” and “Georgetown” both sported.

Dropping in a limited edition box, the packaging alone will be enough to sway sneakerheads. A large photo of a rookie Michael Jordan from the infamous Flight campgain shoot is printed across the lid, revealing the "Black Toe" slung across his shoulder with the iconic Wings insignia nowhere to be seen. This was because this AJ1 sample used for the shoot predated Moore drawing the Flight logo on paper tissue during his many work miles.
