Nike TN Air Max Plus VII Varsity Maize

Twenty years since it first released in 2005, the Nike Tn Air Max Plus VII is finally making a comeback. As a silhouette, the Tn has seen a constant wave of retros after its initial 1998 launch. Up until the rerelease of the Tuned Air 3, Nike had held out when it came to the more obscure updates of the Air Max Plus, with the brand now unleashing the Tn VII update back into the wild with this “Varsity Maize” colourway.

Compared to the other versions of the Tn, the seventh iteration is the arguably the most similar to the original, with a familiar sole and upper combination. Gone are the iconic TPU lines of the upper, a rubberised polka dot finish melding into one another to retain a sufficient level of support. Now that this version of the Tn has re-entered the market, keen-eyed sneakerheads will no doubt draw connections to the haptic upper of the Air Max Dn. The shank plate extends from the midsole and onto the heel, once again playing into the theme of motion.

A lowered leather mudguard and higher placement of the mini-Swoosh creates more space across the mesh upper, allowing the motion dots to take centre stage. We suspect that the this Tn7 retro should fit true to size because of the Last that Nike will likely use, however we will update you on all the latest sizing information when we get a pair in-hand.
