The Y3 Zip Low Core Black is yet another contemporary masterpiece from Yohji Yamamoto. The Japanese based brand and high-fashion adidas collective have enjoyed an unstoppable year for 2016. We’ve seen countless designs fly off the shelves from the hugely popular all-grey Qasa to the Stan Smith collaboration which featured a detachable lace surround.
Now Y3 are back with another ‘Zip’ inspired model. This on trend style blends the contemporary look of high fashion with the impressive performance features of adidas. A combination of black neoprene and synthetic has been utilised for the upper. The rigid structure of the outer shell gives unrivalled support but it’s the soft, neoprene inner lining which offers the comfort.
This is complimented by a chunky strap to the heel which delivers that lock down support. The word ‘Yohji Yamamoto’ are printed along the side to remind us of this premium design.
It’s the zip construct across the midsection which makes this shoe so unique. Coupled with the Ultra Boost sole underfoot for comfort, this has to be one of the most impressive low tops for the autumn months.
