Grail sneakers get re released all the time, but the Nike Air Zoom Spiridon OG ‘Metallic Silver’ seemed destined to remain locked away forever. First launched in 1997, it was one of the original Air Zoom Spiridon designs to hit shelves. Back then, restocks were common, giving fans multiple chances to snag a pair. But the ‘Metallic Silver’ offered no such privilege. In nearly 3 decades, this iconic sneaker has never returned; until now.
Adding to its allure, this colourway was originally released exclusively for women, making its upcoming 2025 drop even more surprising and eagerly anticipated.
Revived as part of Nike’s ‘Cult Classics’ collection, the ‘Metallic Silver’ retains its timeless design. A breathable mesh upper is complemented by leather overlays around the Dynamic Fit lacing system, creating a functional silhouette.
The oversized Swoosh, outlined in striking ‘Signal Blue,’ stays true to the original design. True to Nike’s bold approach, an additional Swoosh is embroidered on the toe box. The sneaker is finished with a chunky Zoom Air midsole, celebrated for its exceptional comfort and support.
While the Air Zoom Spiridon OG might seem like a relic, its influence is still felt today. Travis Scott’s recent Zoom Field Jaxx (a brand new silhouette) borrows heavily from the Spiridon’s '90s aesthetic, proving the enduring appeal of this classic design.
The Nike Air Zoom Spiridon OG ‘Metallic Silver’ will officially drop on 13th February, 2025, and will be available at Nike, the SNKRS app, and select retailers worldwide for £145. Make sure you smash that 'Notify me' button and we'll inform you as soon as these drop.
