The iconic, patent leather-clad silhouette of the Air Jordan 11 is set for a high-luxe makeover courtesy of COMME des GARÇONS.

First introduced to the court in 1995, the shoe saw Tinker Hatfield rip up the rulebook once more, introducing a patent leather upper that blurred the lines between performance and style, bringing a new sense of polish and sophistication to the sporting arena.
Fast forward more than three decades, and the sneaker retains its coveted status amongst the Jumpman back catalogue.
Now, Rei Kawakubo and COMME des GARÇONS turn their attention to the shoe, stripping things back and draping it in two gloriously monochromatic colourways for the COMME des GARÇONS Homme Plus x Air Jordan 11.
Arriving in both black-out and all-white editions, both versions feature a gloss-finished midsole, extending the OG AJ11's signature patent leather sheen from top to bottom.
Premium full-grain and patent leather feature throughout the upper and lining, while debossed branding delivers the refined finish synonymous with the Japanese-founded fashion house.
The signature tongue logo is also reimagined, with Homme Plus stamped in the familiar AJ11 typeface, serving up a subtle but welcome connection to the shoe's heritage.
The accompanying creative campaign was shot by Paris-based photographer Goldie Williams Vericain, outside the COMME des GARÇONS Aoyama flagship store in Tokyo, which originally opened in 1980.
The COMME des GARÇONS Homme Plus x Air Jordan 11 will be available at Dover Street Market London, Ginza, Los Angeles, New York, Paris stores and global E-SHOPs, alongside select COMME des GARÇONS stores on Saturday, 5th September.
