When we got our first glimpse of the Grateful Dead x Nike SB Dunk Low back in March, we honestly had no idea what to expect. Is this an official collaboration? Was that a secret pocket in the tongue? What exactly is going on here? Well, after two months, we're finally getting a closer look at the crazy crep, and thankfully all our questions have been answered.

Made in partnership with the legendary rock band which was formed in 1965 and subsequently disbanded thirty years after, the Grateful Dead Dunk Low is unlike anything we've seen before. Inspired by the Grateful Dead Bears, a series of stylised dancing bears that were drawn by Bob Thomas, this pair is decked out in supple suede and a fuzzy fabric that bears a striking resemblance to the animal's skin.
Blue accents make their way to the lateral and medial side Swoosh, as well as the "Nike" branding that's written in a psychedelic font that oozes with '60s vibes. You'll also find co-branded detailing on the tongue of the shoe, somewhat hinting that we'll also see pairs influenced by the four other bears.
Of course, we can't talk about this shoe without mentioning the tongue pocket where you can store your secret stash. Whatever you happen to use this for, we probably don't want to know.
At this moment in time, pretty much nothing else is known about the Grateful Dead x Nike SB Dunk Low, but our sources tell us that they could be dropping before the end of the year. Let us know if you'll be adding a pair to your personal collection, and while you're here, take your first look at the Civilist x Nike SB Dunk Low!
