After getting a very brief glimpse last week, we're now taking a closer look at the upcoming Off-White x Air Jordan 5 "Black Metallic". While we were a little skeptical at first, these on foot shots from sneaker insider @repgod888 show some pretty promising details and features, so let's take a look!
Painted in a dark charcoal colour palette, the "Black Metallic" switches out the usual leather and mesh construction in favour of a translucent synthetic material that's not too dissimilar from COMME des GARÇONS' upcoming Dunk Low release. The usual deconstructed detailing makes a comeback, with quoted text on the laces, a 3M reflective tongue, and technical verbiage along the medial side panels, resulting in a somewhat futuristic vibe.
With that said, the Louis Vuitton Menswear Designer will also be getting in touch with the past. As this collab celebrates the silhouette's thirtieth anniversary, the number "23" is printed along the lateral heel, while a pre-worn outsole also makes an appearance. This was something that really caught the eye of many sneakerheads when we showcased these last week, but honestly, it's growing on us.
Almost nothing else is known about the Off-White x Air Jordan 5 "Black Metallic" at the moment, but according to our sources, they should drop during All-Star Weekend in February. This has yet to be officially confirmed, so make sure you keep it locked at The Sole Supplier and we'll let you know as soon as more news drops!
