The collaboration between Action Bronson and New Balance continues to evolve, and it was only a matter of time before a new chapter unfolded. The Queens native is on a roll, turning his Boston based partnership into a factory for “sneaker of the year” contenders.
Bronson first made waves with his take on the New Balance 990v6, followed by a three piece collection centered around the New Balance 1906R. Now, as he aims for his personal three peat, he’s revisiting the 990v6 with a brand new “Amazonia” colourway.
Reflecting on his previous work with New Balance, during the launch of his Minimus Trail and FuelCell Rebel v4 performance capsule, Bronson teased fans with glimpses of unreleased designs through an apparel lookbook. Frequent collaborator Meyhem Lauren was spotted wearing one of these unseen colourways, leaving subtle hints for those deeply immersed in Bronson’s creative universe.
The upcoming New Balance 990v6 “Amazonia” perfectly embodies Action Bronson’s signature design aesthetic. The shoe showcases an eye catching mix of colours and unconventional blocking that fans have come to expect.
Dominated by vivid red and deep blue, the design also includes jade blue green accents on the eye stay panel and a striking beige mudguard. True to form, Bronson’s “Baklava” branding graces the tongue, with additional pops of colour making their way into the outsole tread.
Bronson recently sported the “Amazonia” colourway during an appearance on Ariel Helwani’s show, adding fuel to the fire of anticipation. A release date seems imminent, so stay tuned for updates and hit that 'Notify me' button so you don't miss these when they drop.
