We really don't know what's going on, but whatever it is, the hype is off the rails! Earlier today, adidas US and Yeezy Supply uploaded a countdown timer on their respective sites teasing what's being dubbed Yeezy Day. Extremely mysterious, the sneaker community has gone wild with predictions and opinions, and here are the best ones ranked from most to least likely!
We know it's definitely happening, but adidas have yet to officially confirm the Yeezy 700 'Wave Runner' restock! Allegedly set to drop on August 17th, it wouldn't be too out of the ordinary if the Three Stripes were just teasing this. That being said, Yeezy Day is strictly limited to the US of A, so it would be a bit disappointing if the re-release was a States exclusive, so let's hope this isn't it!
With a teaser as secretive as this, we would not be at all surprised if they were about to unveil an entirely new silhouette altogether, more specifically, the Yeezy Basketball 'Quantum'. First teased back in September of last year, we've been waiting eleven whole months for this court-ready shoe to drop. And with NBA season just around the corner, this is definitely the best time to release these.
Yeezy Boost 350 V3 'Alien'
While this is pretty unlikely, Yeezy Supply and adidas could be gearing up for the launch of the Yeezy Boost 350 V3 'Alien' that we caught a glimpse of earlier last month. While this may sound pretty ridiculous at first, the 350 V2 made its debut almost three years, so it's about time we got a brand new generation. To add to this, the 'Beluga' dropped on September 2016, so this could be perfect timing.
Speaking of ridiculous predictions, some sneakerheads think that Kanye West is about to re-release to Yeezy Boost 350 V1 'Turtle Dove' from June 2015. We can pretty guarantee that this is never going to happen, but if it did, you heard it here first! Regarded as the best YZY trainer ever made, they still resell for over £1,000 a pop even four years later, which is crazy money!
Now, now, we know that this is a joke, but wouldn't it be insane if Ye teamed up with Virgil Abloh to restock the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 'MCA'?! Tonnes of sneakerheads certainly want this to happen, and with a potential re-release of the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 'MoMA' rumoured to be coming soon, this wouldn't be out of the question. Nah, it definitely is out the question.
While we're on the topic of being out of the question, why doesn't Kanye team up with La Flame to re-release the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low 'Cactus Jack'?! They are pretty much brother-in-laws! We're just kidding. This would never happen in a million years… Or would it?!
Whatever adidas US and Yeezy Supply are planning, be sure to keep it locked at The Sole Supplier tomorrow when the news officially drops at 2pm GMT tomorrow! While you're here, be sure to let us know what you think it is!
