The German national team, one of the most iconic in football history, is set to receive a premium iteration of the adidas Samba in honour of a significant milestone. As 2025 marks 125 years since the team's founding in 1900, adidas is celebrating the occasion with the release of the Samba “Deutschland.” This shoe pays homage to a partnership that has endured for 71 of those years.
The design embodies sophistication through a palette of neutral tones, with “Cloud White” dominating the upper. The classic gum sole has been replaced by a faux aged version, evoking a sense of timelessness; perfect for commemorating over a century of legacy.
Interestingly, though not officially confirmed, the design bears a striking resemblance to leaked images of the team’s upcoming 125th anniversary kit. The use of a reimagined fabric for the Samba mirrors the knit accents in the jersey, both embracing a minimalist and neutral aesthetic.
This release is tinged with bittersweet significance. By the time the German national team’s 127th anniversary arrives, they will have transitioned from adidas to Nike, marking the end of an era for two German icons. Despite this shift, the adidas Samba “Deutschland” serves as a fitting tribute to the shared history.
The adidas Samba “Deutschland” will be available starting 17th March, priced at £95. Hit the 'Notify me' button and we'll let you know as soon as these are ready to buy.
