Hellstar and adidas Originals return with another drop of their Superstar collab. This is the fourth time the Los Angeles-based streetwear brand is linking up with Three Stripes, and this is the boldest one yet.

The new Superstar II features a hazy orange colourway with bold Hellstar-style graphics such as the silver metallic stripes and 3-D flame detailing, the dual-branded heel tag and “Hellstar” written on the sole. The shoe is made from a premium leather upper, tonal stitching and the timeless foundation on the shell-toe – just like the classic Superstar. 

The LA label, which was established during the pandemic, was the lovechild of three high school friends. The name Hellstar adds just the right amount of religious undertones and ragebait (due to its subtle shock value) – apparently it came through gospel songs the co-founder Sean Holland grew up with: “the light that shines through in a dark place”. Today, Hellstar fuses religious iconography with fun graphics in T-shirts, sweats and sportswear. This collaboration follows previous launches at ComplexCon and NBA All-Star weekend, which featured the signature Hellstar hazy detailing but in more low-key iterations.
