adidas Originals and Drama Call Hop on Board To Launch a Superstar II Inspired by the Manchester Metrolink

adidas Originals and Manchester’s cult favourite streetwear brand, Drama Call, just dropped the unique remix of the iconic Superstar II, and it’s pure Mancunian magic. Inspired by the OG Manchester Metrolink trams, the Superstar II “Drama” rocks teal accents that scream local pride while blending Drama Call’s cheeky style with adidas’s timeless look.

This is just the opening act in a multi phase collab between adidas Originals and Drama Call, following the 2023 jersey partnership with Manchester United FC and adidas. The Superstar II “Drama” takes the beloved shell toe and dials it up to 11, packing it with Drama Call’s signature boldness. From the heel tab to the tongue, sole, and even a silver hangtag, the star emblem is everywhere; shining bright between adidas’s iconic three stripes like it was born to be there.

“This partnership between adidas Originals and Drama Call demonstrates the true power of collaboration,” adidas explained. “Born from our shared love and deep rooted heritage within British culture, the Superstar II ‘Drama’ expertly blends the best of Drama Call with an icon of adidas Originals design, adding even more stars to our shell toe for 2025.”

Charlie Bows, Drama Call’s founder, shared: “We wanted to do our city justice and pay homage to the place that has grown and sculpted us, so we placed the map of Manchester on the under sole of the shoe, allowing your feet to always be rooted in the city."

The launch kicks off with Head North, a campaign celebrating both brands’ deep Manchester roots. The film hilariously features a no nonsense Mancunian parking attendant slapping a fine on a smug businessman parked on freshly painted triple yellow lines. Because in Manchester, the true home of the adidas three stripes, no one parks on our turf without consequences.
